Minneapolis Departure
Today we board our flight in Minneapolis for our transatlantic journey to Prague, Czech Republic, enjoying superior in-flight meal service and entertainment en route.

Monday, August 4
Prague, Czech Republic

Upon arrival we will be met by our local guide and transferred to our hotel. Tonight we enjoy a Welcome Dinner with folklore entertainment.
Dinner is included.

 
Tuesday, August 5
Prague, Czech Republic

Today we will enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Prague including the Prague Castle, St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Golden Lane, the Castle Gardens, “Lesser Town” and the Charles Bridge. After lunch on your own we continue to the Old Town Square with the famous Old Town House and the Astronomical Clock.
Breakfast and dinner are included.

Wednesday, August 6
Brno, Czech Republic

After breakfast we depart for Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic. Upon arrival we’ll have a walking tour of the Old Town and enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon we drive to south Moravia and visit the summer residence of the Liechtenstein family in Lednice. We continue to Cejkovice and tour the Viticulture Cooperative Farm with wine tasting included. Tonight we enjoy dinner and entertainment with a Moravian Band.

Thursday, August 7
Krakow, Poland

This morning we drive to Poland and we’ll stop at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp for a guided visit. We continue to Wadowice, the native town of John Paul II and visit the church built in his honor. Late this afternoon we arrive in Krakow and enjoy an included dinner at our hotel.

Friday, August 8
Krakow, Poland

After breakfast we will have a full morning sightseeing guided tour of Krakow beginning in Wawel, the seat of Polish kings including the Wawel Cathedral, the Royal Tombs, Sigismond’s Bell, the Royal Chambers, and St. Mary’s Church. In the middle of the square stands the Cloth Hall, from the 13th century. Today, it houses many handicraft and souvenir kiosks. The afternoon is free to explore Krakow on your own.

Saturday, August 9
Trstena, Slovakia

We depart Cracow and travel to the resort community of Zakopane, Poland in the High Tetra Mountains. After a city tour we’ll visit the market place where items of wool, leather, and wood carvings are available. This afternoon we travel to Tvrdosin, Slovakia for a visit to a local family home and then visit a 15th century wooden church with altar paintings from the same century. This evening dinner is accompanied with Folklore Mountain singing and dances.

Sunday, August 10
Bratislava, Slovakia

After breakfast a morning drive takes us through the mountains to the Bojnice Castle, the most beautiful castle in Slovakia. This afternoon we continue to Krakovany where we will be invited to a special Slovak Wedding. We receive a special welcome of bread and salt by members of the folk group, all in local costumes. We are introduced to the bridegroom, then go to the house of the bride and then to the church for the wedding. The wedding reception includes dinner, drinks, dancing, lots of fun and a solo dance for the bridegroom and bride!

Monday, August 11
Prague, Czech Republic

This morning we will have a guided tour of Bratislava, including the Old Town, St. Martin’s Cathedral, and the Primacial Palace. Lunch will be on your own. We make our way to Prague this afternoon and check into our hotel. This evening we will enjoy our Farewell Dinner Cruise on the River Vltava.

Home

After breakfast we depart for the airport and our return flight home.
