Thursday, September 24
Schaumburg, Illinois

Our fun-filled journey begins this morning as we board our deluxe motor coach bound for the scenic and historic sites of our New England states. Our first day’s ride takes us to Schaumburg.
Lunch is included.

Friday, September 25
Dearborn, Michigan

We continue our way east, skirting Chicago and passing through Indiana and Michigan. Our overnight will be Dearborn, birthplace of Henry Ford and home of the Ford Motor Company.
Continental breakfast is included.


Saturday, September 26
Dearborn, Michigan

We spend our day at the famous Greenfield Village and Henry Ford Museum, a 260 acre park containing an unequaled collection of American historical artifacts. Build by Henry Ford in 1929, this fascinating indoor-outdoor complex stands as a monument to America’s achievements.

Sunday, September 27
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada

Niagara Falls is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Enjoy marvelous views of the falls; the Maid of the Mist cruise gives us another perspective of the mighty Niagara. Experience the 40-foot diameter floral clock, changed twice a year to feature seasonal blooms. We enjoy dinner before returning to our hotel located near the falls.

Monday, September 28
Lake Placid, New York

The fall colors surround us as we travel through the Adirondack Mountains, making our way to the Olympic village of Lake Placid.

Tuesday, September 29
Burlington, Vermont

A morning tour shows us the Alpine city of Lake Placid and its Olympic sites, before motoring through the hills and valleys ablaze with beautiful fall foliage. We cross Lake Champlain into the state of Vermont for our next two nights in Burlington.

Wednesday, September 30
Burlington, Vermont

The true spirit of New England is alive in the state of Vermont and we have the entire day to explore it. The Vermont Teddy Bear Factory is our first stop. Here we will discover how each bear is made to just the right amount of hug-ability. Next, we head north and travel through the countryside to the Alpine village of Stowe. The Stowe village is dominated by Vermont’s highest mountain, Mt. Mansfield. Our guided tour of the area includes a look at the famous Trapp Family Lodge of Sound of Music fame.

Thursday, October 1
Portland, Maine

This morning we take a drive to the capital city of Vermont, Montpelier. We make a mid-morning stop at the Morse Farm to learn about the maple sugar industry and enjoy a special midday snack. Leaving Vermont and crossing into New Hampshire, we roll along the famed Kancamagus Highway, passing beneath a canopy of brilliant fall foliage. The winding route climbs to overlook colorful peaks and valleys and then descends to crystalline streams tumbling along rocky beds. We soon reach our hotel. This evening you will enjoy a Maine lobster dinner.

Friday, October 2
Boston, Massachusetts

A guided tour of Portland’s restored waterfront area begins our day. We see the stately old mansions and charming streets, as well as the famous Portland Head Lighthouse. We board the Bay View Lady for a beautiful late morning cruise of Casco Bay and the Portland Harbor. We will cruise through the Calendar Islands past six lighthouses. There is time to enjoy the Portland waterfront before boarding our coach for our journey south to Massachusetts. Later this afternoon we arrive at our hotel in Boston for the next two nights.

Saturday, October 3
Boston, Massachusetts

The American Revolution began in the Boston area and today we will see many points of interest, beginning with our walk on the Freedom Trail to the Old North Church. Then we stop to see the USS Constitution, better known as Old Ironsides, before lunch on our own at Quincy Market and Historic Faneuil Hall. This afternoon we relive the battle of Lexington and Concord as we stop at Lexington Green to see the Minuteman Statue and then head to Concord to take that walk across the famous Old North Bridge.

Sunday, October 4
Syracuse, New York

The Yankee Candle Company, a “scent-sational” factory outlet with its candle and Christmas shop, provides a morning stop as our drive continues through Massachusetts’ beautiful Berkshire Mountains. This afternoon, we will visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge before heading into New York and our overnight in Syracuse.

Monday, October 5
Fremont, Ohio

Traveling west, we leave New York State and pass through Pennsylvania into Ohio along Lake Erie’s wine region before arriving at our overnight in Fremont.

Tuesday, October 6
Schaumburg, Illinois

This morning we motor coach into Indiana with a stop in the Amish community of Shipshewana. We will tour this very traditional Amish area and enjoy lunch before arriving at our hotel in Schaumburg.

Wednesday, October 7
Home

It is homeward bound today as our motor coach takes us north, bringing to an end a memorable trip to the beautiful, fall foliage of the New England states.
