Monday, March 15
Scottsdale
Today we depart to the Minneapolis Airport for our flight to
Phoenix. We will transfer by motor coach to our hotel, the
beautiful Embassy Suites Phoenix – Scottsdale, our home for the
next 8 nights. We will enjoy a full breakfast every morning and
a Manager’s Reception every evening. Exclusive Hors d’oeuvres
are included this evening for New Ulm Travel Fun.
Tuesday, March 16
Scottsdale
After breakfast this morning we depart for Los Cedros USA, an
elegant, majestic Arabian horse facility located in the warm
heart of the Arizona desert. We’ll enjoy a guided tour of this
facility, a compound of resources for the excellence and
performance of professional trainers and horses. This afternoon
we’ll enjoy a buffet luncheon at Turf Paradise where you’ll also
be able to test your pari-mutuel skills at the races. We return
to our hotel later this afternoon.

Wednesday, March 17
Scottsdale
Today is a free day. Enjoy a round of golf or just relax by the
pool.

Thursday, March 18
Scottsdale
This morning we’ll have a private Behind-the-Scenes tour of
Taliesin West, the home of the established architect, Frank
Lloyd Wright. This in-depth look at Taliesin West exclusive
experience is a must. A highlight of this tour is a stop in the
colorful Dining Room where you’ll be treated to mid-morning
“tea.” You’ll also have the opportunity to talk with Wright
associates. In addition to seeing all the places on the
Behind-the-Scenes tour, you’ll take a walk to the historic Sun
Cottage or another unique desert site—all with ample time to
take photographs and ask questions. This afternoon we’ll get
dropped off in Old Town Scottsdale for lunch on your own, some
sightseeing and shopping before returning to our hotel.

This weekend is at leisure. Your escort can help you plan some
activities, go shopping to the nearby stores, call your snowbird
friends to get together or just relax in the Arizona sunshine.

Monday, March 22
Scottsdale
Your morning is at leisure. This afternoon we’ll travel to Queen
Creek to tour Arizona’s only working olive mill and farm. The
tour is designed to educate you on Olive Oil, the different
varieties of olives grown around the world and what specific
types are grown in Arizona for the express purpose of creating
our own high quality EVOO. You’ll learn about the health
benefits of extra virgin olive oil and why it is recommended by
doctors, nutritionists and even former presidents. Lunch will be
included at the Queen Creek Olive Mill. Need a date? Before we
return to our hotel we’ll visit the Sphinx Date Ranch. Medjool
Dates were first reported in the fifth century B.C. in Egypt.
They were once the most prized dates in the whole Mediterranean
area. We’ll enjoy a tour of the Date Ranch and enjoy some
shopping time in their store.

Tuesday, March 23
Sedona
Today we depart Scottsdale for Sedona. We’ll stop at Montezuma’s
Castle National Monument, described by President Theodore
Roosevelt as a place “of the greatest ethnological value and
scientific interest.” This cliff dwelling was the home to the
Sinagua people who inhabited this “oasis” along Beaver Creek for
over 400 years. We’ll continue to downtown Sedona where you
enjoy lunch on your own and time to explore Sedona. Later this
afternoon we’ll check in to our hotel located right in the heart
of Red Rock Country.

Wednesday, March 24
Williams
Early this morning we depart for Williams, which will be our
home for our last night in Arizona. We’ll be enjoying First
Class service on the Grand Canyon Railway, boasting oversized,
reclining seats with plenty of leg room and grand picture
windows that enhance the scenic journey. Comfort abounds as
fresh fruit, pastries, coffee and juice are provided during the
morning. Snacks, soft drinks and fine spirits are available on
the return. The 2 hour and 15 minute train ride arrives at Grand
Canyon National Park. You’ll have the entire afternoon to
explore the Grand Canyon on your own and enjoy lunch before our
return to Williams. This evening is at leisure, at the Grand
Canyon Railway Hotel located adjacent to the Williams Depot.

Thursday, March 25
Home
Today we depart Williams for Phoenix. We enjoy beautiful scenery
before arriving at the Phoenix airport and our return flight to
Minnesota, having enjoyed our New Ulm Travel Fun – Fun in the
Sun Arizona vacation!
