This morning we board our motor coach for a
beautiful drive along Lake Michigan, enjoying the wide open
spaces and beautiful forests. We’ll cross the Mackinac Bridge
to Mackinaw City before boarding our ferry to the Island. Upon
arrival on Mackinac Island, we will enjoy a welcome reception
and then board our horse-drawn carriage for a ride around the
island. This evening, relax and enjoy the smells of the
beautiful lilacs that scent the island.
Continental breakfast is included.
Thursday, June 17
Mackinac Island, Michigan
Wake up to the quiet of the island and the smell
of lilacs. These lilacs have ideal growing conditions that
enable them to be larger than the butt of a lumberman! This
morning we have an opportunity to visit the Butterfly
Conservatory here on the island. Hundreds of varieties of
butterflies populate this venue. It’s time for lunch and what
could be better than lunch at the Grand Hotel. Delight in the
many entrees, salads and desserts. Following lunch, enjoy a
tour of the hotel. There’s free time to rent a bicycle and
drive around the island; take a walk to Fort Wilderness or
wander around the shops and enjoy the many shopping
opportunities that surround us.
Lunch is included.
Friday, June 18
Green Bay, Wisconsin
Today we leave the island by ferry to St.
Ignace. Once again traveling the Upper Peninsula of Michigan,
we make a mid-morning stop before continuing to our luncheon
stop. We arrive in Green Bay for the night. This afternoon, we
will enjoy a walking tour of Lambeau Field. We’ll go behind the
scenes to look at the Legends Club, then go down through the
Players tunnel and learn about the Green Bay Packers.
