The Rocky Mountaineer Train offers unique opportunities to
experience the beauty of Western Canada. Traveling only during
the daylight hours, the journey allows you the chance to sit
back, relax and take in some of North America’s most stunning
scenery. On board, enjoy reserved, comfortable reclining seats
with plenty of legroom. Picture windows, spacious aisles and air
conditioning allow for a most pleasant journey. You are welcome
to move about the train and take photos from the outdoor
platforms between the train cars. Meal service is provided by
your Onboard Attendant. Each day, enjoy a cold breakfast and
luncheon featuring local specialties, such as British Columbia
salmon and Alberta beef. Throughout the day, your attendant will
serve snacks and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. A
selection of spirits and wines are available for a nominal
charge.

Thursday, September 4
Vancouver, British Columbia
Join travel enthusiasts as we explore the beautiful Canadian
Rockies by train. Your exciting tour begins in the beautiful
city of Vancouver.
Friday, September 5
Vancouver, British Columbia
Today enjoy an included day trip to Victoria, located on
beautiful Vancouver Island and the provincial capital of British
Columbia. The city began as an outpost for the Hudson Bay
Company in 1843. Hanging flower baskets adorn the downtown
street lamps. Beautiful flowerbeds and gardens reflect the
area’s passion for gardening. High tea awaits await us at the
elegant Empress Hotel. This afternoon we visit Butchart Gardens,
one of the most acclaimed horticultural exhibitions in the
world. Stroll along pathways through wonderfully landscaped
theme gardens and enjoy the seasonal floral displays. See the
Ross Fountains play its pattern of stunning water displays every
four minutes. Mid-afternoon we board a ferry for Vancouver.
Breakfast and High Tea are included.
Saturday, September 6
Vancouver, British Columbia
Today we will discover the delights of Vancouver and the scenic
beauty of the North Shore. We see colorful Chinatown and
Gastown, where the city began in the 1860’s. Travel over the
Lions Gate Bridge to Grouse Mountain on the North Shore. Then
cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge spanning the Capilano
Canyon, 230 feet above the canyon floor. After an included lunch
we’ll continue to Little Mountain, Vancouver’s highest
viewpoint, to Queen Elizabeth Park to stroll through the Sunken
Gardens and take in the Bloedel Conservatory before returning to
our hotel.

Sunday, September 7
Kamloops, British Columbia
We transfer this morning by motor coach to the railway station.
"All Aboard!" Our Rocky Mountaineer adventure, “The Most
Spectacular Train Trip in the World”, begins with comfortable
reclining seats as we travel from Vancouver to Kamloops in the
interior during daylight hours. En route, we will enjoy lunch,
pass through the fertile Fraser Valley, and see the scenic
natural beauty of Fraser Canyon. One of the canyon’s true
highlights is Hell’s Gate, where we will watch water torrent
past the canyon’s walls at its narrowest point. Upon leaving
Fraser Canyon, the train will follow the Thompson River to the
city of Kamloops, and upon arrival, we will transfer to our
hotel. This evening our dinner will be at the “Two River
Junction Revue”, a frontier dining experience complete with
musical revue celebrating the arrival of the first passenger
train into Kamloops.

Monday, September 8
Banff, Alberta
"All Aboard!” as the Rocky Mountaineer departs, for our second
day of “scenic overload”! Delicious breakfast and luncheon
selections are served at your seat so you will not miss a moment
of the scenery. We will wind through vast ranchlands and along
Shuswap Lake to Craigellachie, where the Canadian Pacific
Railroad's completion ended in 1885. Continue to Rogers Pass
with its awe-inspiring glistening glaciers, snowcapped peaks and
tunnels. We cross over the Continental Divide into Banff
National Park and through the unique Spiral Tunnels in Yoho
National Park. After arrival in Banff, we transfer to our hotel.

Tuesday, September 9
Banff, Alberta
We will begin a full day’s sightseeing up the magnificent Ice
field's Parkway. Highlights are Bow Lake, Athabasca Falls and
the Columbia Icfields. We will ride a “Snocoach” up the
Athabasca Glacier and learn more about its geological features.
After an included lunch at the Icefield's Columbia Chalet, we
will return to our hotel in Banff in the late afternoon.

Wednesday, September 10
Banff, Alberta
Today we enjoy a full day sightseeing beginning in Banff.
Highlights include the Hoodoos rock formation, Surprise Corner
and the Tunnel Mountain Basin overlooking the Bow River Valley.
We will board the Banff Gondola for a panoramic view of Banff
National Park. Continuing on to Lake Louise, we will tour
through Yoho National Park, where we will see the turquoise
serene water of Emerald Lake and a natural Rock Bridge spanning
the Kicking Horse River. Lunch will be at the Fairmont Chateau
Lake Louise, where you will enjoy breathtaking surroundings of
the beautiful lake. After some time on your own to take in the
beautiful scenery, we will return to our hotel in Banff.

Thursday, September 11
Home
This morning we transfer by motor coach to the Calgary Airport
for our return flight home. Spectacular memories of our
Railroading in the Rockies make this a Travel Fun vacation we
will never forget.
