The Rocky Mountaineer Train offers unique opportunities to
experience the beauty of Western Canada. Traveling only during
the daylight hours, the journey allows you the chance to sit
back, relax and take in some of North America’s most stunning
scenery. On board, enjoy reserved, comfortable reclining seats
with plenty of legroom. Picture windows, spacious aisles and air
conditioning allow for a most pleasant journey. You are welcome
to move about the train and take photos from the outdoor
platforms between the train cars. Meal service is provided by
your Onboard Attendant. Each day, enjoy a cold breakfast and
luncheon featuring local specialties, such as British Columbia
salmon and Alberta beef. Throughout the day, your attendant will
serve snacks and complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. A
selection of spirits and wines are available for a nominal
charge.

Wednesday, May 19
Vancouver, British Columbia
Join travel enthusiasts as we explore the beautiful Canadian
Rockies by train. Your exciting vacation begins in the beautiful
city of Vancouver where you can spend time exploring this scenic
city on your own. This evening we enjoy a Welcome Dinner at the
hotel.

Thursday, May 20
Vancouver, British Columbia
Today enjoy an included day trip to Victoria. The journey begins
with a scenic 90 minute sailing aboard BC Ferries, traveling
across the Straight of Georgia and past the Gulf Islands. We’ll
visit the world famous Butchart Gardens, which is one of
Canada’s National Historic sites with 55 acres of breathtaking
floral displays. We enjoy a beautiful drive through the lush
farmland of the Saanich Peninsula as we make our way to
Victoria, where we will enjoy an Afternoon Tea at the elegant
Empress Hotel. We return to Vancouver in the early evening.

Friday, May 21
Kamloops, British Columbia
We transfer this morning by motor coach to the railway station.
"All Aboard!" Our Rocky Mountaineer adventure, “The Most
Spectacular Train Trip in the World”, begins with comfortable
reclining seats as we travel from Vancouver to Kamloops, in the
heart of British Columbia’s interior. On today’s journey you
will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields
of the Fraser River valley, through forests and winding river
canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade
mountains, to the desert-like environment of the interior.
Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the
Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the
Thompson River. Our day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer
travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops.
This evening enjoy fun and food at the Rhythms on the Rail.

Saturday, May 22
Banff, Alberta
Our journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies
and the province of Alberta. Once again we will see a
spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands,
along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through
the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history
of the Canadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellache,
where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven,
the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral
Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of
the Canadian Rockies. Our journey ends in the resort town of
Banff.

Sunday, May 23
Banff, Alberta
We will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper national
parks via the Ice field's Parkway. Highlights are Bow Lake,
Athabasca Falls and the Columbia Icfields. We will ride an Ice
Explorer up the Athabasca Glacier and learn more about its
geological features. After an included lunch at the Icefield's
Columbia Chalet, we will return to our hotel in Banff in the
late afternoon.

Monday, May 24
Banff, Alberta
Today we enjoy a full day of sightseeing beginning in Banff. A
stop is made at the Cave and Basin and Sulphur Mountain Gondola
to ride to the summit for a breathtaking view of snow-capped
peaks and valleys. Continuing on to Lake Louise we will tour
through Yoho National Park, which offers magnificent natural
wonders like the Spiral Tunnels, the turquoise serene waters of
Emerald Lake and a natural Rock Bridge spanning the Kicking
Horse River. A stop for lunch will be made at the Fairmont
Chateau Lake Louise for us to revel in the breathtaking
surrounding of the famous Lake Louise before transferring back
to our Banff hotel. This evening we will enjoy a Farewell
Dinner.

Tuesday, May 25
Home
This morning we transfer by motor coach to the Calgary Airport
for our return flight home. Spectacular memories of our
Railroading in the Rockies make this a Travel Fun vacation we
will never forget.

If cancellation notice is received, in writing, by the following
days, the appropriate penalties will apply:
59 - 31 days prior to departure: $300 *
30 - 15 days prior to departure: 50% of tour cost
14 days prior to departure or less: no refund
*Plus any non-refundable deposits.
A valid U.S. Passport is required for this trip and it must
be valid for six months after we return, until November 24,
2010.
