We depart New Ulm early this morning via deluxe motor coach to Winona where we will board Amtrak to Chicago. Sit back and enjoy the timeless rhythm of the rails as you watch the Midwest landscape unfold outside your window. Amenities aboard include a café car when you’re ready to grab a bite to eat. This evening an included progressive dinner highlights ethnic foods such as appetizers in Chinatown, main course in Greektown and dessert in Little Italy.

Thursday, April 29
Chicago
Following a generous continental breakfast, we set out for a guided and narrated architectural sightseeing tour including beautifully preserved and restored buildings as well as more modern structures. We take time for a three course lunch before continuing our city tour of Chicago, “must sees”: the beautiful shoreline, the Loop, Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, Lincoln Park and other legendary sites.
Continental breakfast and lunch are included.

Friday, April 30
Chicago
After breakfast we’ll enjoy an included “behind the scenes” guided tour of Macy’s Department Store followed by a day at leisure. You can enjoy the many “windy city” sites or elect to “shop till you drop!” This evening we attend the musical hit “Billy Elliot”, at the Ford Oriental Theater, an outstanding performance that has won 10 Tony Awards. An extraordinarily uplifting musical, “Billy Elliot” is a joyous, exciting and feel-good celebration of one boy following his heart and making his dreams come true.

Home
This morning is at leisure to explore more of Chicago on your own. We depart for Union Station at noon for our Amtrak ride back to Minnesota.
